Coaching

I coach social justice leaders who understand that working on themselves is one of the best things they can do to help their organization.

I believe that people already have the best answers to their problems – they just may not know it yet. The purpose of my coaching is to help social justice leaders align and transform by finding the answers that exist within them. Because we have all been socialized in systems of oppression – racism, sexism, heterosexism, antisemitism, ableism, classism, and more – my coaching focuses on examining how these systems operate within us. Through transforming pain, shame, and vulnerability into clarity, vision, and action, I help my clients heal and lead from a place of agency and authenticity.

My coaching is influenced by a number of disciplines, including Coaching for Transformation, Internal Family Systems, and my own training and experience as an organizer, management coach, and leader. As a seasoned organizational development and strategy consultant, I can always put that hat on and share recommendations. However, I prefer for clients to find their own answers. As a coach trainer once said “thoughts are like children; there are none like your own.”

I don’t and won’t have all the answers. My approach to coaching is to walk with you in a way that allows you to illuminate and connect with your own answers.

Leaders are the decisive factor for whether an organization is successful. And leaders who are authentic about who they are, act in alignment with their values, and are aware of – and able to manage – themselves and their emotions are most likely to lead their organizations to impact.

“Coaching with Becca has been a powerful experience that has helped me clarify my values and how to ground my leadership in them. As a Black woman navigating many predominantly white spaces, I find Becca’s thorough integration of her racial and gender justice analyses throughout her coaching both radically hospitable and quite useful. Overall, she creates a space that is safe for me to bravely explore my grounding, my gifts, and my gaffs in ways that allow me to be more proactive and better aligned with my values and vision.”
